Yes, it’s true. But hey, I’m finally in it….
*ahem* Ladies, and Gentlemen, I am proud (well, that’s debatable) to announce that I am ….an adult! It’s true. I didn’t believe it either. But yes, today was my first day at a real job. I have been interning and nannying, but apparently those aren’t real people jobs…who knew.
So yes, I awoke early this morning and poor Charles (my olds) grouchily made his way through the diminishing ice and snow. I was less than amused as, my first day in the real world, WE WERE OUT OF COFFEE!!!! *cue weeping and gnashing of teeth*. But Starbucks, that emerald city of hope, the beacon through the fog of all us booger-eyed morning-haters, was ready to serve as always. Bless those over-caffeinated people.
Armed and more than 40% awake, I manned my post at the office and promptly began my four hour training session. Yippee!
I am now a part-time employee of Allstate Insurance—not a dream job (at all), but I really like my manager a lot, the time went by fast, and at the end of my time I had not yet gouged my own eye out with my yogurt spoon and flung it across the cubicle. I call that a good day.
Upcoming goal: full-time. I know, I set my sights so high.
